How did FaB VP change my life into something better?
Are you feeling the desire of improving your life this year? Are you feeling burnout from work? Do you want to finally let go of the corporate world? Are you dreaming of having a work-life balance?
I was in your position a year ago. I was in the corporate world for 9 years. I didn’t even know what work-life balance is. I usually work more than 10 hours a day, overtime work is a normal thing in our company before because “urgent/rush” is our usual routine every day.
It was so stressful that I usually received 10 to 20 calls in a day and 15 meetings in a week. I didn’t have time for myself and for my family after work because I was too tired to play with them and will just choose to sleep because working the next day would be tiring again.
I was fortunate before to have company benefits for myself and for my family but my priorities changed — I want to spend more time with my 3-year-old daughter. I want to see her more often; I want to bond with her every single day.
I was doing great in my corporate job before, I was working as a Marketing Manager handling a team of creative individuals. It was hard to let go of the benefits and the people I was working with. However, having more time for my family is more important than my career in the corporate setting.
Life is too short to choose me over my family. I needed freedom and balance. Freedom of being able to travel with my family and spending time for myself. Balance of not having so many meetings and calls in a day.
This pandemic has taught me that cherishing moments with my loved ones is the most important thing in this world.
If you will ask me how joining the FaB VP last year changed my life?
1) More time with my family — I work from home so I can be with my family most of the time
2) More time for myself — I can to the grocery after shift anytime I want, I have time for my hobbies like painting, watching a movie, and surfing the internet
3) Earning while doing what I love — making a living for my family and being a Marketing Manager at the same time
4) Learning new tools and systems — At FaB, we are given opportunities to attend training, webinars, and learn more with other team members
5) Having fun while working at home — we don’t just do our tasks every day, we also have time to celebrate our small and big wins. We have Thanksgiving, Year-End Celebration, How We Won the Week meeting, and VP Implementation Monday meeting
I will never regret joining the FaB community. Being able to work from home, working with talented and skillful team members, and working with a CEO full of vision and dreams for the clients and the FaB team members.
